ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Maritime Affairs on Tuesday said it is ensuring the participation of women to reduce gender gap, as for the first time in history of Pakistan a woman participated in Port Security Force at Karachi Port Trust.
In a statement on the eve of International Women’s Day, the Maritime Affairs Ministry said, it pays recognition to the women around the world on this special occasion of International Women’s Day 2022. The statement said, it encourages the immense contributions made by the women of Pakistan at both national and international platforms.
It said the women in Pakistan have immense potential for contributing to the advancement and development of the nation. The statement said Pakistan fully supports the gender equality and provides ease of access to resources to its people regardless of gender.
According to the statement, the Ministry would like to praise the women working for the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and acknowledge the hard work and devotion they put to achieve its objectives.
The Ministry quoted the Founder of Our Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah; “No nation can ever be worthy of its existence that cannot take its women along with the men. No struggle can ever succeed without women participating side by side with men.
There are two powers in the world; one is the sword and the other is the pen. There is a great competition and rivalry between the two. There is a third power stronger than both, that of the women.
