KARACHI: Central Information Secretary, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians and Member National Assembly Shazia Atta Marri while addressing a press conference at Clifton, Karachi here on Wednesday said that unemployment is a serious problem of this country and it has further worsened after this incompetent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
She said that during this PTI-led government, thousands of people had been fired from their jobs despite making fake promises of providing 10 billion jobs to the people. She said that it was highly regrettable act of this incapable government, as the way they had fired people from 11 different federal government departments through a single notice following apex court’s decision. Ms Marri said Pakistan People’s Party had expressed serious concerns and agony over such anti-people decision.
She informed that the case against those fired federal employees was filed in the year 2012 and heard till 2019 by the apex court and now, few days back the detailed decision had been announced by the Supreme Court against them.
Marri said that those were the people who were politically victimized and fired by that time’s government in 1996, however, they were later reinstated through a legislation in 2010. She said that perhaps this incompetent government was awaiting the judgment of Supreme Court regarding the federal government’s employees so that it would easily send them back to homes.
She uttered that current PTI government was a government of fake and incompetent group of people who had been adding fuel to the miseries of the people. Marri said that PPP was requesting the apex court to reconsider its judgment, show mercy on the families of the fired government employees and reinstate them.
Marri informed that this government fired eight federal employees from Sindh province on June 10 through a single notice and likewise, this anti-people government had fired people in same manner from Steel Mills and Radio Pakistan and from other departments as well. She said it was decided yesterday by the government to dismiss further 2600 employees from Sui Southern Gas through a single notice and on this issue, the government should go for appeal to the Supreme Court.
She further said that the PTI government had made journalists insecure in the country and Federal Minister of Information Fawad Chaudhry was only speaking lies and his ministry was working like the Ministry of Propaganda. She said Pakistan Peoples Party had rejected and condemned the PMDA Ordinance.
