ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Friday refuted rumors about the withdrawal of nomination papers by the ruling parties’ candidates for the election of Punjab Assembly. In a statement, she said no such decision has been taken by the leadership of the parties of the ruling alliance. She said the parties in the coalition government want elections across the country simultaneously, but these reports are baseless and concocted.

She also urged the media to verify from the spokesperson of the parties before publishing such news. According to reports circulating in media, the coalition government partners are pulling out of the Punjab elections by withdrawing their nomination papers.
