The Convener of APHC-AJK chapter, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, chaired the session.

Over 50 innocent Kashmiris were killed in Bijbehara on this day in 1993 when the troops of Indian Border Security Force fired indiscriminately on the peaceful demonstrators who were protesting against the Indian military siege of Srinagar’s Hazratbal Shrine.

The participants of the meeting on the occasion reiterated the Kashmiris’ pledge to continue the freedom movement till complete success, adding that all the nefarious designs of the Indian government would be foiled. Meanwhile, the Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, in a statement in Muzaffarabad said that the wounds of the tragic incident of massacre were still fresh in the memory of every Kashmiri.

He said that for the last seven decades, India had been suppressing every voice raised for the freedom of the people of Kashmir with military might. He said that since 1989, dozens of such incidents had taken place in the occupied territory in which thousands of Kashmiris had been killed. Ghazali said that Indian military siege and killing in IIOJK should be exposed to the world and strict action should be taken against the tyrant rulers and military personnel of India.
