KARACHI, July 22 (PPI) A medals distribution ceremony was held today at Central Police Office Karachi to accord honor to the police martyrs of the Chinese Consulate attack that took place on November 23, 2018. ASI Ashraf Dawood and constable Amir had been martyred in the terrorist attack.

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar as a special guest, Chinese Consul General in Karachi Yang Yundong, IGP Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IG Karachi Javed Akhtar Odhu, all Additional IGs, all DIGs, other senior officers also attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the Sindh Home Minister said that martyrs of Sindh Police are our pride and the Sindh government had supported the Sindh Police Department at every opportunity. Mr Lanjar said: “The credit of the establishment of peace goes to the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Sindh police. The successes of the police against crimes are due to the cooperation of the people. Timely solution to the problems and difficulties of the heirs of police martyrs is my priority.”

He said that taking care of the heirs of the martyrs was the first priority of the Sindh government. “I assure the Chinese of providing and continuing to provide foolproof security to them throughout Sindh. The Sindh Police Department is bound by the commitment made regarding the welfare and care of the heirs of its martyrs,” he said.

He said: The sacrifices of our martyrs are an asset while their deeds are a prominent beacon. We are grateful for the cooperation and support of the Chinese government with the Sindh Police.  Protection of life and property of people is the job of Sindh Police. It is because of these martyrs that we are leaders today.”

The Chinse Consul General said: “For us, the security measures adopted by the Sindh Police are a source of satisfaction. We feel the pain of those who sacrificed life in the way of duty. The Chinese government will always take the lead in supporting and cooperating with the Sindh Police.

At the end of the ceremony, the Chinse Consul General presented a commemorative medal to AIG Finance Sahay Aziz.
