A delegation from the Pakistan Olympic Association met with Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, to discuss the planning of the 35th National Games 2025.
The delegation was led by POA President Arif Saeed, and included Senior Vice President Ms. Fatima Lahori, Secretary General Khalid Mehmood, and Sindh Secretary Ahmed Ali Rajput.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Agha Wasif and Secretary Sports Aleem Laghari. Secretary Abdul Aleem Lashari provided a detailed briefing on the ongoing preparations and logistical plans.
The Chief Minister welcomed the holding of the National Games in Karachi and announced the event would take place from December 6 to 13, this year. He reiterated his commitment to provide all possible support to ensure the National Games are held to international standards.
The Chief Minister instructed that the provision of training, medical facilities, transportation, and other amenities for athletes be ensured. He also announced the construction of a new swimming pool and the purchase of modern electronic timing and scoring systems.
On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to establish a coordinated framework between the POA, the Government of Sindh, and the Sindh Olympic Association. This initiative will be a significant milestone for the welfare of athletes and institutional harmony.
The President of the Pakistan Olympic Association appreciated the Chief Minister’s support for the development of the National Games and stated that the event has instilled new enthusiasm among the athletes.
