Islamabad, March 28, 2018 (PPI-OT): Show cause of absence from the meeting of the Standing Committee may be served to Federal Secretary, Health and delays in the development projects will not be tolerated at all. These remarks were given by the Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reform in its meeting held in Committee Room of Parliament Lodges, Islamabad. The Committee was apprised that due to slow working of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Finance Department and the Finance Division of Federal Government, the construction of Khyber Institute of Child Health and Children Hospital has been delayed.
The Committee was told that Secretary, Health was also invited to attend the meeting and to give his input in this regard but the Secretary Health did not attend the meeting. The Standing Committee showed its displeasure upon the absence of Secretary, Health and directed to serve a show cause notice to the Secretary. The Standing Committee was told that due to slow working of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines, several development schemes were suspended. The Committee directed that all such schemes should be completed with national zeal and on apolitical basis. The Committee observed that due to slow speed and delays, the cost of development increases may folds which causes irreparable loss to the Country. So, in this regard, any delay will not be tolerated at all.
The meeting was presided over by the Chairman Standing Committee of National Assembly on Planning, Development and Reform Abdul Majeed Khan Khanankhail and attended by Members National Assembly Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar, Syed Muhammad Athar Hussain Shah Gillani, Ms. Shaheen Shafiq, Ms. Shazia Sohail Mir, Ms. Shamas-un-Nisa, Dr. Nafisa Shah, Mr. Junaid Akbar, Sheikh Salahuddin, Mr. Sher Akber Khan and Mr. Iftikhar-ud-Din. Moreover, Secretary Petroleum and several senior civil officers attended the meeting.
