KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA from Karachi Mehmood Moulvi Tuesday announced to quit the party over May 9 incidents.

Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club Mahmood Moulvi said he was leaving the PTI. He also announced his resignation from the National Assembly seat.

He said that he was also given a ticket by Khan Sahib, the party gave him respect but he will never go against the army. He said that he could leave the party but could not change the army.

He said that he remembers the wars of 1965 and 1971 very well, “I am not part of this team, this country cannot run by removing the army.”

“When we came to power, did we come against the army? Imran Khan used to say that the army is our backbone, what will we prove by fighting the army? No one can change my software,” he said.

He demanded that those involved in PTI should be punished and the person who was provoking the children should also be punished.

It may be recalled that Mahmood Moulvi was elected as a Member of the National Assembly from Karachi in February this year from NA-245. He was also senior vice president PTI Karachi.
