Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon today declared that the recent attack on the Jaffer Express was not a random incident but had deeper motives.

Addressing the Sindh Assembly, Memon highlighted the historical injustices faced by the people of Balochistan and pointed to the efforts of former President Asif Ali Zardari, who introduced the “Aaghaz-e-Huqooq Balochistan” package to address these grievances.

Memon highlighted Balochistan’s potential as a resource-rich region that could achieve self-sufficiency if peace is restored. He accused certain forces of deliberately destabilizing the area to hinder its progress. Memon credited Asif Ali Zardari for founding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and developing Gwadar into an international port, while noting that some entities are apprehensive about Pakistan’s advancements and are leveraging local people for their own interests.

The minister accused enemy nations, with support from neighboring states, of instigating conflict within Pakistan and targeting allied foreign citizens. He referenced the attack on foreign language teachers at Karachi University as an example of incidents that serve the interests of anti-Pakistan forces. Memon commended the security forces for their role in rescuing hostages and neutralizing terrorists during the Jaffer Express incident.

He urged those involved in armed conflict to put down their weapons and engage in dialogue, emphasizing the need for collective effort to resolve the ongoing issues. Memon stressed that individuals receiving foreign funding to harm Pakistan are adversaries of the nation.
