ISLAMABAD:Balochistan National Party (BNP) Chairman Sardar Akhtar Mengal called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Thursday and expressed gratitude to him for including the development of Balochistan in the list of his priorities.
Federal ministers Rana Sanaullah and Khawaja Saad Rafique were also present in the meeting during which matters pertaining to the current political situation in the country were discussed. On the occasion, the prime minister said that Balochistan was rich in natural resources, adding the Baloch manpower was a valuable asset to the country.
“The government will take steps for the development of Balochistan on a priority basis,” said the prime minister, adding the government would also ensure the participation of the Baloch youth in the national mainstream.
It may be noted that last week, Sardar Akhtar Mengal had warned allies of parting ways with the government. BNP Chairperson expressed on his twitter outlet that they cannot stick to the thought of working with the ruling government, considering such incidents. He was referring to the recent incident in which 6 people were critically injured simply for protesting peacefully, he said. He shared that BNP has walked out of the NA assembly today.
