Minister asks under what authority Gul wants closure of markets

Karachi:Reacted strongly to Dr Shahbaz Gul’s tweet in which he is asking to close major markets and malls, Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramuallah Dharejo asked that who has given authority to Shahbaz Gul to decide to close the markets on his own?

Dharejo said in a statement that the coronavirus had spread alarmingly across the country due to poor policies of the federal government. Hospitals do not have rooms for patients. He questioned who was responsible for the horrific situation and the deaths from the coronavirus.

He said that when Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah was repeatedly requesting the federal government to take serious note of the coronavirus situation, but the federal government did not pay attention due to its ego and now that more than 80,000 people had contracted the coronavirus, now the federal government had come to its senses that the markets should be closed.

Dharejo said that the federal government considered the loss of human lives as a joke and was making unwise decisions without taking the provinces into confidence which was proving to be extremely dangerous for the country and the nation. He asked the federal government to take sensible measures and make decisions in the interest of the nation, otherwise, the people would hold the federal government accountable.
