Minister congratulates NHMP on achieving 25 years of excellence

ISLAMABAD: At a special ceremony commemorating National Highways and Motorway Police’s (NHMP) 25th Raising day, Federal Minister for Communications Asad Mahmood, Secretary Communications Capt (r) Khurram Agha, and Inspector General Khalid Mahmood addressed officers and families of the Shuhahada on Tuesday.

The Federal Minister congratulated the NHMP on achieving 25 years of excellence and remarked about the unparalleled dedication and professionalism that the department has demonstrated. IG Khalid Mahmood addressed officers and presented a history of the department while identifying future ambitions. Chairman OGRA, Inspector General Islamabad, former Inspector Generals from NHMP, and other senior officers also participated in the celebration.

“NHMP has achieved an extraordinary amount in a short span of time,” the Federal Minister said. Recent initiatives regarding implementation of emergency doors on public service vehicles, drone cameras, body-worn cameras, chasing of over speeding vehicles, installation of dash cameras, anti-dozing activities, and intelligent transportation and traffic tracking systems were also highlighted. Souvenirs were presented to the Federal Minister, senior officers, and former IGs, including the first Inspector General of NHMP, Iftikhar Rasheed.
