Islamabad, October 12, 2021 (PPI-OT): Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar has reiterated to provide uninterrupted gas to domestic consumers, power, exports, and the fertilizer sectors this winter. He was chairing a meeting to finalize load management plan for this winter in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The meeting was informed that the local gas is already being provided to the domestic consumers on priority basis. It was said that 70 percent of gas supply consists of locally produced gas. The meeting was told that nine cargoes are imported on pre-determined rates, which are too less than the existing prices. It was said that unavailability of spot cargo will be met with imported furnace oil to ensure provision of energy to industrial consumers.
The Minister for Energy also directed the concerned departments to further expedite their preparedness, besides, he called for the implementation of the strategy required to pave the way for the establishment of new terminal and to make the unused capacity of the existing terminal usable.
