Lahore, August 10, 2020 (PPI-OT): Provincial Industries and Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal presided over task force for price control meeting at Civil Secretariat today in which availability of essential items, their prices and monitoring process came under review. Provincial Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, Noman Akhtar Langrial, Secretary I and T, DG Industries and concerned officers attended the meeting while Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and police officers attended the meeting via video link. The Minister while addressing the participants emphasized that we will have to come out of tracking system in order to provide flour at subsidized rate to the masses.
He directed the administration to ensure availability of 10 kg flour bag and 20 kg flour bag at fixed rates in the markets. He ordered not to allow coming of 15kg and 25 kg flour bags in the market. Aslam Iqbal directed that the process of providing wheat to the flour mills, preparation of flour and its supply to the shops should be undertaken by napping.
He directed the administration to duly perform their duties in order to bring stability in the prices of essential items and should also give positive results in this regard. The Minister directed to continue launching crackdown against the hoarders and profiteers. Unsatisfactory remarks were expressed on the performance of price control magistrates during the meeting and the Minister directed to formulate effective mechanism of monitoring process in coming two days. DG Industries briefed Aslam Iqbal about action taken against hoarders and profiteers, performance of Punjab Qeemat App and price control magistrates.
