Minister Law with Chief Secretary Reviews Lockdown Situation in Lahore

Lahore, July 31, 2020 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Muhammad Basharat Raja along with Chief Secretary Punjab paid surprise visits to different areas of Lahore including Liberty Market, Barkat Market, Jail Road, Gulberg, Johar Town and Valencia in order to check the situation of lockdown in the city on Tuesday. He also visited different cattle markets and reviewed the implementation of Corona SOPs there as well.

Talking on the occasion, he said that the ban on this lockdown was very important to bring down the rate of reduction in Corona cases otherwise we could face a dangerous situation as experienced during relaxed lockdown on Eid-ul- Fitr. “That is why I am reviewing the lockdown situation as directed by the Chief Minister”, he said. “The decision to lock down has been taken in the large national interest and the business community should cooperate in the implementation of the government’s decision.

The traders community did not comply with the SOPs at that time of Eid-ul-Fitr, which caused a rapid rise in Corona cases.” he said Raja explained that the government had decided to lock down the current one out of sheer compulsion to protect the precious lives of traders and the people. He said that it was the duty of every responsible citizen to take precautionary measures. The law minister directed the district administrations across Punjab to strictly enforce the lockdown.
