Minister seeks FAO’s support in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries

ISLAMABAD:Caretaker Minister for National Food Security and Research Dr Kausar Abdullah Malik has sought the FAO’s support to increase the capacity of Pakistani experts in the field of agriculture, livestock and fisheries.

He was talking to the representative of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Pakistan Ms Florence Rolle here in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Dr Kausar Malik said the existing collaboration between the FAO and Pakistan to address food insecurity and sustainable agricultural production is very satisfactory.

The FAO representative said her organization will provide support to drive innovation, transformation and digitization in the agriculture sector and food systems.

She assured to help the Ministry of National Food Security and Research to improve soybean production in the country to meet the growing domestic needs.
