In a pivotal move for the agriculture sector, Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, has pledged the government’s unwavering support for small farmers.

He emphasized the importance of creating a conducive environment for these farmers by enhancing access to veterinary services, feed supplies, financial aid, and market connectivity.

The commitment came during a crucial meeting with the Livestock and Dairy Development Board delegation in Islamabad. The discussions centered on strategies aimed at advancing the livestock sector, which the Minister described as the backbone of rural livelihoods and a key driver of economic stability.

Highlighting the sector’s significance, Tanveer pointed out that over eight million rural families in Pakistan depend on livestock as their main source of income. This initiative underscores the government”s focus on bolstering rural economies and strengthening the agricultural framework to ensure long-term sustainability for small-scale farmers.
