Missing professor issue: Varsity association announces exam body boycott

QUETTA:Professor Dr Kaleemullah Bareach, President Academic Staff Association University of Balochistan has announced boycott of Vigilance Committee meant for conducting all exams including ongoing exams of BA and BSc.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Sunday, he said: “If Dr Liaquat Sunni was not recovered within 24 hours, Academic Staff Association University of Balochistan would not only boycott the ongoing exams of BA and BSc exams but would also stage a protest demonstration under the auspices of Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Associations in all the universities across the country which would be followed by a sit-in to be staged outside the Governor House.”

He said: “Dr. Liaquat Sunni, Head of Brahvi Department University of Balochistan was abducted in broad daylight while performing his official duties”. He added: “It is the foremost responsibility of state to provide security to the builders of society.”

Later on, Academic Staff Association University of Balochistan staged a protest demonstration outside Quetta Press Club against the authorities for not taking steps for the recovery of the professor.

ARREST: Levies Force District Killa Abdullah arrested Awais Abdal on Sunday. According to detail, Levies Force conducted a raid and arrested Awais Abdal from his residence on the charges of defying emergency imposed for combating coronavirus, intimidating respectable and patriotic pushtoons of Chaman city and inciting Afghan smugglers against security forces of Pakistan.
