KARACHI: Following the instructions of Provincial Minister Hari Ram Kishori Lal, the distribution of Academic Scholarship Award cheques among about 1500 talented students in the first phase on open merit by Sindh Minority Affairs Department continued for the fourth day today while other scholarship cheques will be distributed to another 500 students in next phase.
Thus, total number of 2000 students would get scholarship during current financial year. In Karachi, Secretary Minority Affairs Abdul Hadi distributed educational scholarship cheques to 29 students belonging to Karachi Division in the first phase. At the ceremony, Director Minority Affairs Abdul Shakoor also distributed educational scholarship award cheques among the students. Hadi said that the Department of Minority Affairs is in the process of distributing cheques among the students who received scholarship awards on open merit is going on as per schedule.
Expressing determination on the occasion, he said that all possible steps are being taken for the welfare of the minority community across Sindh while work is also underway on Satsang Hall and other development projects including renovation of minority places of worship by Minority Affairs Department Sindh. On the instructions of Minister for Minority Affairs Hari Ram Kishori Lal, his political diamond Lal Menghwar distributed about 200 educational scholarship checks among students from Hyderabad, Sujawal, Tando Muhammad Khan and Badin districts.
