MoU signed to provide uncooked food and grocery for the beneficiaries of Panahgah 

Islamabad, September 16, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) gets support from Comprehensive Disaster Response Services (CDRS) and SABA Trust for the beneficiaries of Panahgah at Tarlai. Managing Director PBM, Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar inked the Memorandum of Understanding with the Founder CDRS, Todd Shea and Anns Ali from SABA Trust in a ceremony held in the Panahagah of Tarlai here in Islamabad. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan also witnessed the signing ceremony.

Under this MoU, CDRS and SABA Trust will provide uncooked food and grocery items to PBM, to facilitate the beneficiaries of Panahgah in Tarlai. These welfare organizations will provide 50 Kg Mutton and 50 kg Rice and grocery items every week. Both of the organizations are also agreed to increase the quantity in future on fortnightly basis.

Commending the services of both the organizations, State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan termed it an imperative support to the poor people of Pakistan. Ali Muhammad Khan also admired the leadership qualities of Managing Director PBM and applauded his vibrant and dynamic role for making the ‘Panahgah’ and ‘Koi Bhooka Na Soey’ Project flourishing and glimmer of hope for the deprived community of the country.

Addressing the ceremony, Managing Director PBM expressed his gratitude to both of the organizations while appreciating their welfare services for impoverished and neglected human beings. He admired their compassionate humanitarian aid and emphasized the need to strengthen the knot in future to accomplish the social welfare tasks in the country.

Malik Zaheer Abbas, highlighting the scope of Panahgahs, told that at present 22 Panahgahs are operational throughout the country under the Ehsaas Programme of Prime Minister; each Panahgah is having capacity for 100 person’s night stay with breakfast, and dinner for around 400 persons. Moreover, meals are also being provided on the mobile food trucks under ‘Ehsaas Koi Bhooka Na Soey’ project. Founder CDRS Todd Shea and Anns Ali from Saba Trust appreciated the initiative and regarded this project as a cornerstone of relief and plausible solution of poverty. Both the chiefs of the organization expressed their willingness for the collaborative efforts in future also.
