Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, in his message on International Mountain Day, said today that Pakistan’s mountains are a symbol of our culture, natural beauty, and heritage.

In a statement issued from the Sindh Governor House today, Mr Tessori said there was a need to make commitment to preserving the Karakoram, Himalayas, and Hindu Kush ranges.

He further stated that mountains ensure natural beauty, climate balance, and water reserves. He highlighted that tourist destinations linked to mountains can play a key role in strengthening the national economy.

The governor added that the development of mountainous regions would significantly improve the lives of local communities, and sustainable measures to protect natural resources are the need of the hour.
