Mukhtar Waza, Samad Inqilabi facing health issues in jail

Srinagar, March 13, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League has expressed serious concern over the illegal detention and deteriorating health of party Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, languishing in a police station in Islamabad district.

A JKPL spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar demanded release of Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and all other political detainees. He said Waza is not keeping well for the past few days in the police lockup. The spokesman appealed to the international community to take cognizance of the worst human rights situation in occupied Kashmir.

The JKPL denounced the NIA notice to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is a political and religious leader in occupied Kashmir, and termed the move as a direct interference in religious affairs of Muslims. Meanwhile, Islami Tanzeem Azadi Jammu and Kashmir in a statement issued in Srinagar also expressed concern over non-provision of medical facilities to illegally detained party Chairman, Abdul Samad Inqilabi in Kot Bhalwal jail.
