Islamabad, January 03, 2019 (PPI-OT): Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has said that historic, cultural, social and parliamentary linkages between Pakistan and Bahrain should be translated into economic ties for mutual benefits of both the countries. He said this while talking to Mohammed Ebraheem Mohammed, Ambassador of Bahrain, who called on him at Parliament House here on Thursday.
He congratulated the Bahrain leadership for holding the new elections and especially to the first ever elected woman Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia Abdullah Yusaf Zainal. He said that was a dire need to put our heads together and overcome the challenges posing threats to stability of Muslim Ummah. He said that this is an era of parliamentary diplomacy as it is the most appropriate and viable option for furthering the ties between the nations and resolving the issues.
He said that Pakistan enjoys cordial relations with Bahrain and other Gulf countries and there is a need to further boost these brotherly relations into extended economic ties to benefit from the huge trade potential among these nations. Chairman Senate said that the cooperation between the Parliaments of Muslim countries is direly needed.
He said that it is important for the Muslim parliaments to interact and find solution to the problems and emerging challenges. He said that there is a huge potential for improving the economic ties and Pakistan especially its private sector should benefit from these opportunities as Bahrain could serve as a gate way for Pakistani products for trade with the Gulf countries.
