Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, on Tuesday commended all parliamentarians for their bravery in confronting terrorism, following a terrorist attack on May 6, 2018, that targeted Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal.

The speaker in a statement praised Minister Iqbal for his courage, describing it as a testament to his dedication to public service and democratic values.

Sadiq emphasized that parliamentarians, whether present in the House or absent, have shown exceptional resolve against terrorism. He acknowledged their steadfast commitment to their responsibilities despite the challenges posed by such threats.

The Speaker remarked that terrorism continues to challenge Pakistan’s democratic institutions, but the unity and determination of its elected officials have been a robust response to attempts to destabilize the democratic process.
