In a significant push to promote indigenous identity technologies on the global stage, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) participated in the ID4Africa 2025 Annual General Meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where it presented its stateoftheart identity solutions and secured strategic international partnerships.
The NADRA, along with its commercial arm NADRA Technologies Ltd. (NTL), showcased a range of cuttingedge technologies developed in Pakistan, including biometric hardware, a dematerialized ID card system, a secure personal data vault, and an enhanced version of the Pak ID mobile application, according to a statement issued by the NADRA here on Thursday.
During the conference, NADRA signed bilateral agreements with several international firms to strengthen collaboration in the field of secure identity solutions. A notable partnership was formalized with Aratek, a leading Chinese biometric manufacturer, to enhance biometric capabilities and broaden market outreach.
Additionally, agreements were signed with Austriacard Trkiye and another Turkish technology partner to explore joint initiatives in secure identity development and innovation.
The signing ceremonies were attended by Berk Baran, Ambassador of Trkiye to Ethiopia, and Atif Mian, Ambassador of Pakistan to Ethiopia.
ID4Africa 2025, themed ‘Digital Identity at Scale,’ is a premier event aimed at addressing the continent’s Identity for Development (ID4D) goals.
The gathering attracted government officials, development partners, civil society representatives, and tech industry leaders from across Africa and beyond.
NADRA’s pavilion emerged as a focal point at the event, drawing highlevel delegations and dignitaries from countries including Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Cameroon, Djibouti, Trkiye, and China.
