The National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) has inaugurated the National Faculty Development Programme (NFDP) in Lahore and Peshawar, targeting fresh PhD graduates. This initiative aims to equip these new academics with vital teaching and research skills to enhance their contributions to Higher Education Institutions across Pakistan.
According to a statement by Higher Education Commission today, the NFDP aligns with Sustainable Development Goals by enhancing faculty capabilities, supporting quality education, gender equality, economic growth, and more. The program is part of a broader effort to foster innovation and sustainable development within higher education.
The Lahore ceremony featured notable figures such as Prof. Dr. Moazur Rahman from the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology, who stressed the importance of faculty in driving academic progress. He praised NAHE’s commitment to capacity building and encouraged participants to leverage the training for personal and institutional growth.
In Peshawar, the event welcomed dignitaries including Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq and Nasir Shah from the HEC Regional Centre. They reiterated the significance of continuous skill enhancement for faculty members, emphasizing their role in shaping Pakistan’s academic landscape.
The NFDP will provide 28 participants in Lahore and 25 in Peshawar, all fresh PhD graduates, with comprehensive training. This includes workshops and interactive sessions designed to refine their teaching, research, and leadership abilities, underscoring NAHE’s dedication to academic excellence and innovation.
