Nasir Shah presides 9th meeting of Sindh Workers Welfare Board

Karachi, January 19, 2018 (PPI-OT):Sindh Minister for Labour, transport and Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah today presided over a 9th meeting of Sindh Workers Welfare Board at his office here. Minister Information Technology Dr. Sikandar Shoro, MPA Rukhsana Shah, Workers’ Representatives Shamshad Qureshi, Rehmatullah Sarki, Secretary Labour Abdul Rasheed Solangi, Secretary Industries Abdul Rahim Soomro, representatives of Education, Health, Works and Services and Secretary SWWB Jalaluddin Mehar attended the meeting.

Addressing the 9th meeting Sindh Labour Minister Syed Nasir Shah, reiterated the priority of PPP under vision of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the Board is being established for the betterment and progress of the workers and their children to provide various facilities and incentives on priority. He said that many more development projects and schemes have been initiated so that they would get the high status on the society by providing them all basic needs, the Government of Sindh has taken concrete steps in this regards.

The Minister Labour has said that to rehabilitate the existing labour colonies, build the new labour societies, besides new model workers school/ colleges and hospitals including trauma centres would also be established with the true representatives of the labourers / workers. He also said that to ensure transparency and merit based actions in the whole process of allotment of labour colonies and labour flats housing facilities no would be tolerated who so ever be influential it would be dealt accordingly as per law.

He directed to expedite all legal matters and cases on priority through legal firm hired for the purpose of speedy disposal of the issues. Secretary SWWB Jalaluddin Mehar has apprised the implementation status and progress of decisions taken in the last meeting, informed that construction of hospital at Arore in Sukkur, incentives to workers children, set up of committee to implement the decision and future projects have also been given due consideration. The next meeting of the SWWB will be fixed on the end of February and reports of the committee will also be presented in the meeting.
