The National Assembly today unanimously passed a resolution condemning the hijacking of the Jaffar Express and all acts of terrorism that threaten lives and peace. The resolution, presented by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, also praised the security forces for their bravery in neutralizing the attackers.

The resolution acknowledged the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, FC, SSG, and law enforcement agencies for their dedication. It highlighted their heroic efforts in handling the Jaffar Express attack as evidence of their commitment to national security. The House resolved to eradicate terrorism across the country and prevent any ideology that threatens national peace and security.

The Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, expressed confidence in the nation’s support for the armed forces in the fight against terrorism. He criticized the PTI for its attacks on state institutions via social media and highlighted the successful elimination of the terrorists in Balochistan.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned the attack, praised the security forces, and stressed the importance of political unity. He called for collective efforts to defeat terrorism, echoing President Asif Ali Zardari’s call for consensus in handling such challenges.

The session included discussions on strengthening the National Action Plan and fostering unity for national development, with inputs from various leaders, including Farooq Sattar and Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh. The House paid respects to the victims of the Jaffar Express attack and will reconvene tomorrow at 11:30 am.
