(National): Burns victims suffer as elevator not working

Karachi:The elevator at Burns Centre Karachi has not been functioning, causing grave hardships to patients with burns injuries and rescue workers to shift patients from ground floor to upper floors.

The elevator is not operational since two weeks as Burns Centre administration run by Friends of Burns Centre (FOBC) is unable to get its evaluator repaired yet. The burn victims and their attendants are facing great hardships since two weeks. The shifting of patients from emergency and operation theatre to different wards has become very difficult for attendants and volunteers due to non-working elevator.

Additional Medical Superintendent, Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, Dr Ismail Memon, while talking to PPI, informed that repairing and maintenance of faulty equipments and elevator are the responsibility Friends of Burns Centre (FOBC). He said non-operational elevator would be repaired very soon.
