National Incubation Centre inaugurated in Peshawar

Islamabad, January 13, 2018 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says the government is striving to facilitate young generation by providing them endless opportunities of employment through promotion of internet broadband connectivity. He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of National Incubation Centre at Islamia College Peshawar on Saturday. He said the centre would cater to the needs of young generation in the field of information and technology by keeping pace with the fast changes in the field of science.

The prime minister said incubation centre will explore the capabilities of young generation and serve as a bridge by giving them access to job opportunities inside the country as well as in the international market. The prime minister said that provision of broadband facility is also being considered as one of the significant needs of the youth like basic education. He said it will help bring youth living in the far-flung and tribal areas in the national mainstream of development and prosperity.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said facilitation of young generation will eliminate issues like extremism, drug and arms use through opening of new vistas of growth and prosperity. He said the country was lagging behind in the field of information technology and telecommunication when PML-N assumed power in 2013. Licenses of 3G and 4G were delayed for five years but after assuming power, we transparently issued licenses.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said it is the first government, which not only conceptualized the projects but also completed them. He said we spread the network of motorways. He said ten thousand megawatt of electricity has been added to the system and signed gas agreements worth billions of dollars. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman said the country’s technology center is witnessing a revolution. She said 3G projects are being executed in far flung areas which will be completed this year. She recalled that in 2013 internet facility was available only in three percent areas. Today, the broadband facility has reached thirty-five percent areas of the country.
