Thatta, April 19, 2018 (PPI-OT): PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that both Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan have never respected parliament and now they are giving sermons on the dignity of parliament. This he said while talking to media just after launching mangroves plantation at Keti Bandar today.
He said that Imran Khan has respect for parliament and even he didn’t cast his for senate election. “Now, he has removed his 20 MPAs of KPK Assembly from his party for not casting vote for party candidates, as a matter of fact he himself did not cast vote for senate election in the National Assembly- he should also resign from party as he has removed his MPAs,” he said
Talking about Nawaz Sharif’s campaign for restoring sanctity of vote, the chairman said he never accepted sanctity of the parliament. “ During his tenure as a prime minister he hardly attended assembly session for six times and now he is talking about sanctity of vote,” he surprised. Replying to a question about Nadeem Afzal Nadeem’s joining PTI, Bilawal Bhutto said he was present in our ranks but had changed his loyalty much before. Those who are loyal with the ideology of the party are and will be with us, he said.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah addressing on the occasion said that the road from Thatta to Keti Bandar was constructed by Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto when she had visited Keti Bandar to launch Keti Bandar Project. He said his government has made some good progress in development of infrastructure all over Sindh. “Still there is enough space to develop the infrastructure in villages, towns and districts,” he said
Thatta district is most important district and it has been the capital of the province. Once it was a seat of trade, commerce and learning. “We would restore the past glories of Thatta and construct port at Keti Bandar,” he said. Earlier, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah separately planted saplings in a small island located in the sea at Keti Bunder to lunch mangroves plantation drive launches by Forest Department to set a new world record.
The chairman PPP, Sindh chief minister, Provincial Ministers, Nisar Khuhro, Nasir Shah, Ghulam Qadir Malkani were taken in a Hover into deep sea to reach them at a Island where the chairman launched tree plantation drive. Sindh Forest Department having the honour of holding the Guinness World Record of Planting most trees in 24 hours, is again attempting to create another world record by planting “Most Trees in 24 hours” at Juho district Thatta on 19th April 2018.
The earlier record set by Sindh Forest Department in 2013 at Kharo Chaan, Thatta district by planting 847,275 is still intact. The current attempt is to plant at least 1,000,000 (one million) saplings of the mangrove species. As per standard fixed guidelines mandated from the GWR authorities, the record has to be set in 24-hour period by 300 planters only during the Daylight.
Briefing the chairman PPP, Secretary Forest Sohail Akbar Shah said since we would be attempting the record in estuarine intertidal mudflats, the availability of maximum time is critical. Taking assistance from the Tidal Data of the Pakistan Navy, the most suitable date of 19th April 2018; where we can avail maximum daylight i.e. around 12.5 hours. So, in real time we would be making the attempt from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Pakistan Standard Time.
The chief minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah said the purpose of our attempt is to highlight and showcase the importance of Indus Delta Mangroves, its affiliated biodiversity and most importantly the communities dependent on this precious but threatened ecosystem. “Our experience of the GWR 2009 and 2013 has brought the coastal areas into limelight and socio development activities are on the rise in these areas,” he said.
He said that the current attempt is financed by the Sindh government with the logistic and material support provided by the Pakistan Navy. “We expect the support and active participation from media, civil society, local representatives and large volume of the community in this important national event,” he said and added the groups from media and local / national representatives would also be able to witness the current attempt and other conservation efforts of the Forest Department.

This record is for the most trees planted within 24 hours.
This record is to be attempted by a team of a maximum 300 persons.
This record will be measured by the number of individual trees planted.
GUIDELINES FOR THE RECORD
1. The 300 people are the same 300 throughout the attempt – no substitutions are allowed and no-one who was not present at the start of the attempt may participate.
2. The total number of trees planted must be accurately confirmed by a method pre-approved by Guinness World Records. For example, a grid like system clearly marked using chalk should outline where the trees will be planted. The proposed method should be sent to mass.participation@guinnessworldrecords.com
3. An official count of the number of trees planted at the location must also be documented in writing and supported by photographic and video evidence.
4. Supervisors are required for every 50 participants, each supervisor must provide their statement documenting their final number of trees planted within the twenty-four hours time.
5. There should be sufficient light for planting the trees/saplings correctly. Trees cannot be planted at night.
6. The trees/saplings should be young, native species or young trees of a species (or of a variety of species) appropriate for the chosen sites. The location should form one specific area for planting.
7. The trees/saplings should be planted over one specified area, not over several different areas.
