Islamabad, July 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):Nelson Mandela International Day is being observed today to honour the great legacy and values of former South African President who fought against racial discrimination. In his message UN Secretary-General António Guterres said in his message that each year, on this day, Nelson Mandela’s birthday, we pay tribute to this extraordinary man who embodied the highest aspirations of the United Nations and the human family. This day was first celebrated on July 18, 2010, after the United Nations in November 2009 officially declared his birthday as Nelson Mandela International Day.
