Srinagar, June 04, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Democratic Freedom Party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, who is already in the custody of Enforcement Directorate, was today arrested by National Investigation Agency. Shabbir Shah was produced before a special court in New Delhi. An NIA official called Shabbir Shah’s wife in Srinagar and informed her about the development.
The DFP chairman was arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in July 2017 and he was soon shifted to Tihar Jail Delhi where he is lodged till date. A DFP spokesman while strongly reacting to the arresting of Shabbir Shah said that arresting political leader in fresh cases while he is already behind bars proves that New Delhi and its institutions want to punish Shabir Shah for fearlessly advocating the right to self-determination cause. He said such cheap acts cannot deter Shabbir Shah from advocating the rights of the oppressed people.
