Niazi Regime more despotic than Dictatorship: Saeed Ghani

Karachi, September 04, 2019 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for Information and Archives and Labour Saeed Ghani has said that the use of force and threats could not discourage the Bhuttos adding that Bhuttos always faced the tyrannical rulers with courage and history was full of their sacrifices. Saeed Ghani said this while addressing a press conference on Wednesday. The Minister said that former President and Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari had been shifted to prison even when he was seriously unwell.

Saeed Ghani said that MPA Faryal Talpur was treated in a similar indecent manner when she was shifted to prison from the hospital on the eve of Eid day. The Minister said that even the production order issued from the Sindh Assembly were denied. This was the clear violation of rules and regulations, he added. He said that till date no allegations against former President Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur had been proved.

The Minister said that it was extremely deplorable that the daughter of the former President was not allowed to see her father in prison even when the relatives of the dangerous inmates had access to them. He said that the Pakistan Prisoners Code was not being followed in letter and spirit in the case of former President Asif Ali Zardari. Saeed Ghani said the even the order of the courts were being denied in this case. The court had allowed the former President to avail the facilities he needed at his own expense, Saeed Ghani told.

The Minister said that even the dictators in this country did not treated the women ruthlessly. He also censured the way the trial of the case was being conducted in the province where the even the reference was not filed. Saeed Ghani said that if this had to be made the norm the cases of all the accused persons in Punjab and KP should be heard in Sindh.

The Minister questioned that why the leaders of PTI including Pervez Khattak, Khusro Bakhtiyar, Mehmood Khan, Asad Qaiser were not being arrested? He pointed out that the unlawful assets of Aleema Khan were proved not of Faryal Talpur. He told that the efforts were in progress to grill another PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah in false and fabricated references. Saeed Ghani said that the injustices of the Niazi government with the political prisoners were undermining a larger cause of raising voice against the violation of human rights by India in held Kashmir.

Meanwhile chairing a meeting at SESSI, Minister Saeed Ghani said that no stone unturned for the welfare of the Labour class. He also said that said that the lone focus of the administration of the Sindh Employees Social Security Institution should be to provide as much relief as possible under the relevant laws to the workers. Saeed Ghani said that SESSI should work for the protection of the legitimate rights of the workers. The Minister said this while presiding over 152nd meeting of the governing body of Sindh Employees Social Security Institution in his office on Wednesday.

Labour Secretary Abdul Rasheed Solangi, SESSI Commissioner Kashif Gulzar Shaikh, Mumtaz Shaikh and members including Muhammad Khan Abro, Asghar Ali Ghanghro, Shahjahan Shaikh, Abdul Waheed Shoro, Nasir Aziz Mansoor and other officers attended the meeting. The Minister was comprehensively briefed about the functions and achievements of SESSI so far. Saeed Ghani while addressing the meeting said that the Sindh government was trying to provide maximum possible facilities especially of health to the workers through SESSI.

The Minister said that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto established Sindh Employees Social Security Institution with only one aim and that was to improve the living standard of the workers. He said that same were the instructions of Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Saeed Ghani stressed the need for ensuring maximum transparency while utilizing the funds of the institution. The funds belonged to the needy workers and should be spent on them in a transparent manner, he added.

Saeed Ghani also reviewed in detail the ongoing development projects of Sindh Employees Social Security Institution initiated for the welfare of the workers. The meeting also after discussion approved the minutes of the previous meeting of the governing body. Saeed Ghani said that the sole purpose of the SESSI was providing timely benefits to the workers or employees and their dependents in the hour of immediate need.
