The nomination form of Nawab Younus Talpur has been approved for the by-election in the NA-213 constituency, which became vacant after the death of Pakistan People’s Party’s National Assembly member Nawab Yousuf Talpur.

Younus, who is the son of the late Nawab Yousuf Talpur, said in a statement that the nomination form was submitted following the party’s instructions. He has been a part of local government since 2001 and has been participating in local body elections since the era of Pervez Musharraf, consistently achieving success.

He further mentioned that his late father’s politics focused on agricultural and water issues. Younus said at present, not only is water for agriculture scarce in Sindh, but even drinking water is barely available. He emphasized that all political parties need to work together to save the agricultural sector.

He said that new canals would not be permitted. If canals are drawn from the Indus River, the fertile areas of Sindh will turn barren. The polling for the by-election will be held on April 17.
