LARKANA: The employees of NPIW On Farm Water Management of Sindh’s Agriculture Department held a large protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh here on Monday against the failure of the government to pay their four month’s outstanding salaries. They brought their children on a pushcart and were shouting to sell their innocent children as a protest.
On the occasion, employees Ghulam Mohammad Bhutto, Sadrudding Mangi, Muzaffar Khoso and others said that we have been doing our duty honestly for the last 16 years but sadly our services have not been confirmed till this time. They said that they protested in front of the Sindh Secretariat in January where the Director Generals of Water Management and Finance Departments assured us that we will get our salaries at home and our services will also be regularized through a notification but despite assurance neither our arrears have been paid to us nor our jobs have been regularized which is very painful for us.
They said, being heartbroken, we are out today to hold a protest of selling our beloved children so that the consciousness of the bureaucracy could be shaken. They demanded release of their salaries and issuance of regularization notification without loss of further time.
