NPMC takes notice of rising price of wheat, flour in Sindh, KP and Baluchistan

Islamabad, October 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): National Price Monitoring Committee has taken strict notice of the rising price of wheat and flour in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan and urged the Provincial governments to initiate daily releases on top priority. The meeting of NPMC was held in Islamabad on Wednesday with Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam in the chair to review weekly prices.

The meeting observed that price of 20 kg bag of wheat flour is 1100 rupees in Punjab and Islamabad Capital Territory due to daily release of wheat at Government specified price, however, the price of the same bag in Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar ranges between 1300-1460 rupees.

The committee was informed by the Secretary Food Sindh that Government of Sindh will start daily release of wheat at the notified price from Saturday. The Committee was also briefed about the continuous fluctuations in the international prices of Palm and Soya bean oils and about increase in prices of chicken due to seasonal factor.
