Karachi, January 01, 2018 (PPI-OT):Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that wherever it is a must the number of field staff should be increased in order to improve their performance because it has come into his notice that the shortage of the field staff has affected their performance. This he said while presiding over a meeting in his office on Monday. Secretary Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Abdul Haleem Shaikh, Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and other officers also attended the meeting.
He assured that the shortage of the field staff was being meted out on priority basis. He also directed to address the issues of the field staff so that they might perform well. He added, ‘During raids against drug peddlers the lady constables should be kept on board so that action may be taken against female drug peddlers and they may be searched thoroughly’.
Meanwhile Sindh Minister for ET and NC Mukesh Kumar Chawla, while appreciating the progress in awarding cash awards / letters of appreciation to those officers / officials in recognition of their tireless and dedicated efforts in helping the department to achieve the targets, said that such cash awards and certificates of appreciation encourage the officers and officials to come up with better results and performance . ‘While awarding such cash prizes and certificates of appreciation the transparency and merit must be maintained’, he concluded.
