In a decisive move for community safety, Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javed has ordered a comprehensive operation against illegal rides in Okara’s public recreational areas.
Assistant Commissioner Rab Nawaz, along with Chief Officer of the Municipal Committee Umar Naseem, led the enforcement action against operators of unapproved rides. As a result of this operation, mechanical rides at key locations such as Fareeduddin Water Park, Colonel Safdar Shaheed Park, and Jinnah Park were sealed.
Authorities confiscated equipment from these illegal setups, reflecting a strong stance against potential hazards. The police have been approached to register cases against two individuals.
In light of the upcoming Eid al-Adha celebrations, the presence of unregulated and dangerous mechanical rides posed a significant threat to public welfare. The directives from the Government of Punjab against these installations are being strictly enforced, ensuring that public safety is given the highest priority. This proactive measure is to prevent any untoward incidents during the holiday celebrations.
The local administration has committed to continuing these vigilant measures, maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against illegal recreational operations in the city’s parks, and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.
