On the direction of IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, actions are underway across Punjab for violation of national action plan 

Lahore, June 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):On the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, Punjab Police is ensuring strict implementation of the laws enacted in the province regarding National Action Plan and ensuring indiscriminate legal action against violators.

IG Punjab has directed all the supervisory officers of the province to wreak indiscriminate massive crackdown on violations of National Action Plan under their supervision and against those violating tenancy registration, display of weapons and loudspeaker act.

IG Punjab directed the officers to register the details of all the tenants including the property owners in the local police station so that the process of identification and eradication of criminals could shored up. He emphasised upon officers not to show any leniency towards violators.

Spokesperson Punjab Police said that Punjab Police is taking action against tenant registration, Loudspeaker Act, display of firearms and unlicensed arms holders across the province and operations are being carried out in this regard on daily basis.

Regarding the operations carried out during the current year, he said that 17490 cases were registered and 9236 persons were arrested under violation of tenancy act and loudspeaker Act whereas 1106 licenses were revoked in the province this year.

The Punjab Police spokesperson further said that 3420 cases and 6029 persons were arrested against the violators of the Tenancy Ordinance. Similarly, 2575 cases were registered and 3207 persons were arrested for violating the Loudspeaker Act while 1701 cases were registered for displaying arms and 9794 cases of illegal possession of weapons were lodged.

Moreover, 1106 licenses were revoked. Spokesperson Punjab Police said that 1344 cases of violation of Tenancy Act were registered in Lahore while 2688 persons were arrested. Similarly, 554 cases of violation of Loudspeaker Act in Lahore while 573 persons were arrested.

The Punjab Police spokesperson further said that 50 cases have been registered in Lahore for display of arms and 2007 cases for illegal possession of arms. He said that crackdown is being undertaken effectively in the light of orders of IG Punjab.
