Faisalabad, September 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):On the special directives of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Engr. Bashir Ahmed FESCO First circle in initiating strict action against the power theft in the circle. In this connection, under the supervision of Superintending Engineer (SE) First Circle Muhammad Saeed special task forces and surveillance teams of the all six divisions including Civil Line, Abdullahpur, Chak Jhumra, Jaranwala, Chiniot and Lalian, caught 130 power pilferers red handed while stealing electricity.
According to details, during special campaign against power theft, 21434 electricity meters were checked and 130 consumers found involved in power theft. These pilferers were stealing electricity through different means including direct supply from PVC cable, hole in meter, change of polarity and neutral break. These power pilferers were totally charged Rs.13.6 million in shape of detection bills while Rs.5.5 million has also been recovered. 41 FIRs have been registered in concern police stations of the Sub Divisional Offices. In this context, SE First circle Muhammad Saeed told that special campaign against the power theft would be continued in future so that power pilferers could be permanently eliminate from FESCO.
