Opposition demands withdraw of cases against its members

QUETTA: Opposition members of Balochistan Provincial Assembly have said that either the government withdrew from the case lodged against the members of opposition or their application for lodging FIR be accepted.

 

This demand was expressed by Opposition leader in Balochistan Provincial Assembly, Malik Sikandar Khan Advocate, Chairman, Public Accounts Committee, Akhtar Hussain Lanove, MPA Shakeela Naveed Dehwar and others while talking to media at Police Station Bijli Road, Quetta here Wednesday.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Malik Sikandar Khan Advocate said, “Our options are three, that is, either the government arrest us or withdraw from the case already lodged against us or our application submitted for lodging F.I.R be acceded to”. He added that opposition members of Balochistan Provincial Assembly came to know on June 20 that a case against them had been lodged on June 18.

 

He said that on June 20, they came to Police Station Bijli Road for arrest, but despite lapse of considerable period of time neither they were being arrested nor their demands were being entertained. He said that a delegation of treasury benches came but that delegation was having no authority. Akhtar Hussain Langove on the occasion said that they did not accept the illegal budget and that was why opposition members boycotted the budget session of Balochistan Provincial Assembly.
