Over 200 illegal power connections smashed in Naundero

NAUNDERO:Over 200 illegal electricity connections were disconnected here on Thursday during an operation conducted by a team of Sepco engineers.

The team, led by Executive Engineer (Rural), Larkana, Mushtaque Hussain Burdi, conducted the operation in Khuhra Muhalla, Kertia Muhalla, Mirani Muhalla and other localities. The team was also accompanied by SDO Naundero Nazar Muhammad Memon and his line staff. During the operation, defaulters’ connections were also disconnected and they were warned to clear their bills for electricity supply or else stern action will be taken against them.

The residents also complained to XEN about charging of extra payment in the name of ‘detection’ by the SDO and his line staff whereas they are genuine meter holders. XEN warned the SDO not to harass genuine consumers and don’t repeat such acts in future or else a detailed report will be sent against him to higher Sepco authorities.

The residents said that they would pay proper bills regularly if they were not levied unlawful extra charges. XEN corrected several bills which were brought to him by the consumers and directed them to pay in instalments. Residents also complained against dysfunctional five polie mounted transformers in the town for which he assured them that the same will be repaired.
