Islamabad, February 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan and the United Kingdom have underlined the need for international community to stay engaged for averting humanitarian crisis and economic collapse in Afghanistan. The resolve came during a meeting between National Security Advisor Dr. Moeed Yusuf and British High Commissioner Christian Turner in Islamabad on Thursday.
The two sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations and strategic partnership in multiple spheres, including trade and investment. In his remarks, National Security Advisor said it is imperative for regional and international partners to constructively engage with Afghanistan by supporting the country’s economy, reconstruction, rehabilitation and humanitarian needs. The British High Commissioner said his country looks forward to strengthen relationship with Pakistan in years to come by capitalizing opportunities to advance shared goals of security, stability, and prosperity in South Asia.
