Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, embarks on a crucial trip to Kabul today to formalize a framework agreement for a feasibility study of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) railway.
A high-ranking delegation, including the Minister for Railways, Special Representative for Afghanistan, and Secretary of the Ministry of Railways, will accompany the Deputy Prime Minister.
The UAP railway project seeks to establish a rail connection between Uzbekistan and Pakistan through Afghanistan, granting Central Asian states access to Pakistani seaports. This initiative is anticipated to boost regional trade and transit, fostering stability, economic expansion, and progress.
This visit highlights Pakistan”s commitment to the UAP railway”s successful implementation. The signing of this agreement in Kabul marks a significant stride towards the project”s realization.
The Deputy Prime Minister”s itinerary also includes a meeting with Afghanistan”s Acting Foreign Minister and a visit with the Acting Prime Minister to address bilateral issues and discuss regional and global affairs.
