Pakistan has called for revitalizing the work of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to strengthen the global governance.
The call was given by the Acting Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN Usman Jadoon while speaking during the UN General Assembly plenary meeting on the implementation of the UN resolutions and revitalization of the work of the Assembly in New York.
Usman Jadoon said the General Assembly is the only principal organ with universal membership. He emphasized the need for the UN General Assembly to play a more prominent role in the development of international law, according to a Radio Pakistan’s report.
The Acting Representative of Pakistan to the UN also stressed the importance of enhancing the General Assembly’s effectiveness in maintaining international peace and security, advocating for stronger coordination between the Assembly and the Security Council.
