Pakistan and Denmark have agreed to focus on strengthening bilateral relations as well as increasing high level contacts and exploring new avenues of cooperation.

According to a Radio Pakistan report today, the consensus was expressed during a meeting between Minister for SAFRON and Kashmir Affairs, Engineer Amir Muqam and Denmark’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Jakob Linulf in Islamabad.

They discussed Afghan refugee welfare and avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation between two countries. Engineer Amir Muqam said there is significant potential for cooperation between two countries. He said both countries can explore Joint program to improve education, healthcare and vocational training for Afghan refugees.

The Minister underlined financial challenges of Pakistan in hosting Afghans in the country and noted generous support of international community.

Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan Jakob Linulf expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s recent decision to extend the validity of refugee Proof of Registration cards.
