Pakistan on Sunday condemned the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities which follow the series of attacks by Israel.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the Pakistani government had expressed deep concern over the potential for increased conflict in the Middle East following recent US military actions, describing them as a breach of international legal standards and a threat to regional stability.
“Pakistan is gravely concerned at the possible further escalation of tensions in the region,” the spokesman said. He emphasized that such actions not only violate international law but also jeopardize the sovereign rights of nations under the UN Charter.
The conflict has seen a marked rise in hostility, which experts fear could lead to broader regional instability. Islamabad highlighted the urgent need to protect civilian lives and property and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
“Pakistan stresses the importance of adherence to international law, particularly International Humanitarian Law, by all parties,” the statement continued. The Pakistani government advocates for the resolution of the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy, in accordance with the UN Charter’s principles.
The international community watches closely as the situation develops, hoping for a de-escalation of tensions and a peaceful resolution to the disputes.
