Lahore, January 25, 2018 (PPI-OT):The Pakistan Footwear Manufacturers Association (PFMA) in collaboration with Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) held a press conference at a local hotel in Lahore on 25th January 2018 to announce the 4th Pakistan Mega Leather Show 2018 (PMLS18). The senior members of both the bodies were present at the press conference. The PMLS18 is scheduled to be held on 27th till 29th of January, 2018 at Lahore International Expo Centre.
The press conference was addressed by; Mr. Farrukh Saleem (Chairman PFMA), Mr. Abid Hafeez (Sr. Vice Chairman PFMA) and Convener-PMLS-2018, Mr. Aman Ullah Aftab (Chairman PTA), Mr. Mansoor Iqbal (Sr. Vice chairman PTA) and Mr. Muhammad Musaddiq (PTA) Co-Convener-PMLS-2018. This 2nd largest event of Southeast Asia will be inaugurated by Mr. Mohammad Pervaiz Malik and special participation is also confirmed by His Excellency Dr. Stefano Pontecorvo ambassador for Italy in Pakistan.
Pakistan Mega Leather Show is a series of vibrant, annual events promoting a wide range of leather products; including Footwear, Garments, Gloves, etc. This event will attract international customers towards the tremendous potential that exists in the leather sector of Pakistan to provide a viable platform for nurturing stronger ties or collaborations between the allied industries of the Leather Sector of Pakistan. The event also features a special exhibition of the high-quality products being produced by the leather Footwear-Manufacturing industry and leather goods of Pakistan. The PMLS 2018 will attract potential buyers and investors from China, India, Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, Cyprus, USA, UAE, Spain and Tunisia.
The Chairman of PFMA – Mr. Farrukh Saleem and Chairman PTA Mr. Amanullah Aftab during the ceremony commented on the great potential of Pakistan’s leather industry and stated that; “Pakistan Mega Leather Show 2018 is the second largest footwear and Leather exhibition in the world. Production and tanning of leather along with manufacturing of leather-goods is the second biggest export-oriented industry in the manufacturing sector of Pakistan. It is the third largest contributor towards the overall exports of the country. The rapid growth of this industry has attracted many international buyers to invest into training facilities for this labour-intensive industry. These investments will improve the technical skills of the labour involved in manufacturing leather goods”.
The Pakistan Mega Leather Show is jointly orchestrated by four highly resourceful industrial associations including; footwear, leather goods, tanneries, gloves and leather garments. The PMLS 2018 promises to be the biggest exhibition of leather-based products in the country’s history. This event will feature 100 national and international exhibitors. The foreign exhibitors also include many Chinese organizations, who have shown keen interest in the growing leather industry of Pakistan. This marvellous event will be attended by many International Footwear Journalists, Footwear designers and buyers of footwear and leather-goods.
The event will provide great business opportunities and valuable information for entrepreneurs, investors and all other stakeholders of this promising industry. Given the sheer scale of this show and its benefits for these businesses, the organizers have always received an overwhelming response from the customers and stakeholders. Maximum participation is also expected from the Government sector. The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industries and other regulatory institutions are providing unprecedented support for this event too.
