ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin called on the Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Ms Shazia Marri here at BISP headquarters on Tuesday.
In the meeting both sides discussed the bilateral issues and agreed to work together for exchange of experiences in the fields of education, culture, and particularly in the field of social protection.
The Minister while highlighting the similarities of common cultural and religious heritage of Pakistan and Kazakhstan said that connectivity between the brotherly countries is vital to enhance mutual cooperation.
She also emphasized on strengthening bilateral relationship at governmental level as well as the people to people contacts. The Minister, on this occasion, presented brochure on BISP and traditional gift of Sindhi Ajrak to the visiting diplomat.
Yerzhan Kistafin appreciated the warm welcome extended by the Federal Minister and said that Benazir Income Support Programme is one of the best social safety programmes of the developing world. He said such programmes of direct cash transfer to the most vulnerable segments of the society need to be replicated in other countries as well.
